Five Easy Smoothie Recipes to Start the Day

If you need a fast and easy meal in the morning that is loaded with healthy ingredients that is also tasty, you can whip up a delicious and easy to make smoothie. Here are five easy smoothie recipes to start the day.

Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

6 Romaine lettuce leaves, chopped
4 Kale leaves, chopped
½ cup fresh parsley
½ cup fresh pineapple, chopped
½ cup fresh mango, chopped
¼ cup fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Pineapple and Coconut Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh pineapple, chopped
¼ cup unsweetened coconut milk
¼ cup vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon sweetened coconut, flaked
Ice

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh or frozen mixed berries
1 cup tofu
¼ cup pomegranate juice
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Blend for about 20 seconds or until smooth.

Papaya and Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 cups papaya, chunks
1 cup ice cubes
2/3 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon honey
Juice from 2 lemons
16 fresh mint leaves

Directions:
Blend papaya, ice cubes, yogurt, ginger, honey and juice from the lemons into a blender. Add ¼ cup water slowly. Add less if desired consistency is achieved. Add in mint leaves.

Soy Smoothie

Ingredients:
½ cup pineapple chunks
½ banana
½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1 tablespoon honey
½ cup carrot juice
½ cup vanilla soy milk
½ cup orange juice

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
